Chatty Cathy

Welcome back Monday...

How was your weekend??
I was very excited for this weekend, not necessarily because I had any super special plans, but just because I did have some fun things planned.

Earlier in the week...
I got to meet this lady in real life!
If you don't already know her, this is Julie who blogs over at From Awkward to Art. I have been following Julie for quite some time and even though we are miles apart and some years apart in age, we have quite a lot in common. She was coming to my town and hit me (and my sister Danette) up to get together for breakfast. I was so excited! I love Julie's blog and now I can say I love her in real life too.
Go on over and visit her, I promise you will love her too. hehe

The youth group (I am a youth pastor if you didn't already know d:) has been taking part in the 31 day challenge. For 31 days we are taking our swords, aka bibles, everywhere we go. This isn't just to carry it around, but to read it when we can and take a stand for who we are and what we believe in- God's word. Among many other places (including breakfast with Julie) I took my sword to Wal-Mart.

Then on Friday...
I was sooooo happy that I got to go hiking with these ladies. Oh, and Jackson. We had been going every Friday, but it seemed like one of us has had something going on on Fridays for the last, well for a really long time. But we finally made it back to the trails! I have fallen in love with hiking. I love getting out in nature, having fun, making discoveries, and of course getting some exercise in the process.
Jackson was pretty worn out afterwards, but he LOVES hiking too!

I took on a little project this weekend, that is besides continuing the on-going remodeling at the house. Here is a little preview:
I will be posting all the details on how to make these this FRIDAY! Just in time for you to make it your weekend project. Be sure to check back.

<<<< Saturday

Sometimes it is nice to just take it all off... MAKE UP that is. I am not one who HAS to have make-up on all the time, but I pretty much always wear at least eye liner and mascara. Always covering. Sometimes it is nice to just give your face and really yourself a break. Take it all off. Be yourself, whether that means without make-up, or with your personality. Don't hide who you are.

We had a bit of a rain storm here in OK, but I didn't mind. I didn't care about getting wet. For the first time in a long time I walked in the rain. It was wonderful.

And Sunday
I wore my new floral leggings. Super comfy, super cute.

I got a little unexpected gift from a student at church. Of course I love coffee mugs because I love coffee... and because they are cute. I love this one she got me and I can't wait to use it! Probably tomorrow.

Had a little Easter preview with these cute little sugar cookies.
Here's how to make them:
Open plastic
Pick up cookie dough cube
Place on cookie sheet
Repeat until you have reached the quantity desired
Put in oven on 375 degrees
Wait 8 minutes
Take them out of the oven
Enjoy.
Genius!

Oh yes, and one more thing..............................
This also happened this weekend. Yay! Thank you all so very much. I love the opportunity to get to speak into your lives, inspire you some, and always point you to Jesus. Looking forward to continuing to get to know you all.
P.S. This also means we will have to celebrate of course- giveaway coming soon!
