Just do it.

Whether you feel like you have been in a desert, like things haven’t been going your way, or you feel like life is good & you haven’t experienced much difficulty, GET EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING NEW.

Allow God to speak this into your life today. He brings good things to those who love Him. If you are ready, if you think you can handle something new and more from God, just say “God, bring it on," because he wants to give you the fullness of his spirit. He wants more of us, and he wants to do more in your life this year.

This year cause change in your life; make something happen. Yes, it is God who changes us, but we limit what he can do by how close we let him come; by how much control we allow him to have. Cause change in your life by getting closer to God.

We can cause change to happen in our lives by the decisions that we make. When we made the decision to follow Christ, whenever that may have happened, change happened; we were saved by God’s grace and our names were written down in the lamb’s book of life, so that we can have eternal life. When we make a decision to sin we cause change; we choose to step away from God, to be separated from him by things of this world. But we can cause change in our lives by making decisions to step away from the world and closer to God; to choose to wake up earlier or turn off the tv or get off facebook, or even our blog (heaven forbid!) so that we can spend time with God. The kind of change that will produce in our lives is not something that God can do, it is something we have to choose to do in our own lives. God will respond to that change; he will draw close to us.

Sometimes it seems like we are victims to circumstances and to our surroundings, but we can cause change in others' lives

Verses 15-16
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

D.L. Moody said, “Of one hundred men, one will read the Bible; the ninety-nine will read the Christian.”

Whether we recognize it or not, we all have influence. It is up to us to be a positive & godly influence rather than a negative & misleading influence.
