Braids, Braids, Braids.

New fad or lasting trend?

Either way, they are on a rise in the hair styling world. They are everywhere and in all forms, it is hard to keep up with all the different kinds any more. I am a new "braider", just learned how to french braid about 2 years ago. This is how it happened:

About 7 girls were piled in my dorm room all "studying" for finals. We had a movie on just for noise of course. We would read... look up, watch the movie.... talk for a few minutes.... read and repeat the cycle. During one of our talking breaks the topic of braiding came up. Many of us expressed our lack of braiding knowledge, so that's where it happened. Right there, right then my dear friend Cara put down the books she had been enthralled in (haha) and walked us through french braiding 101.

And I have been braiding ever since. Still wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means, but I am getting there. I have fallen in love with braids. There are so many ways to use them for up-do's, down-do's, casual, classy, hippie, professional; braids are just that versatile. With the help of Pinterest, I truly believe a person could wear braids different ways every day for a year! I did not cover everyday for a year, but I did put together a board on Pinterest showing some gorgeous hairstyles using the art of braiding. Check it out here.
