When the Opportunity Arises...

For those who don't know Kyrie Coffee is a coffee company that I started just under a year ago. It is a mobile coffee shop for different events and venues, but also sells bags of coffee online. I started this coffee company for the purpose of impacting the world both locally and globally. This company is intended to contribute to non-profits, missions, and other efforts to make an impact. Along with brewing up some caffeinated goodness I post on the Kyrie blog weekly. On the blog we focus on inspiring good, motivating change, and changing the norm. I wanted to share with you a post that I recently shared on the Kyrie blog. I believe it will inspire you to do good even in the seemingly small, everyday things.

A young Ethiopian girl lay alone on the hard dirt ground staring up at the stars that were peaking through the holes in her small mud hut. She lay with tear stains on her face, making clean streaks on her dirt covered face. She often cried herself to sleep and this night was no different. She had gotten to eat dinner tonight since the family had left some scrapes on their plates. The few left over bites seem to grow in her stomach that had become so accustomed to that empty feeling. She lay staring up at the stars wondering what would become of her. Would she ever escape this life of slavery? Would she ever experience anything apart from hunger and beatings and fear? If not, was life really worth living?

I want to encourage you today to do good and keep doing good. It is easy to start an effort to do good, but it is much more difficult to continuing doing good when we don't see a positive outcome. It is hard to continue doing what is right when we don't see the outcome we are working towards. If you have found yourself discouraged because your efforts seem to be fruitless, let me encourage you with these words:

Galatians 6:9-10
So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone...

What you do matters. What you are doing matters. Keep doing the good you are doing because it does make a difference. And when you have the opportunity-- do good.

(Still need some inspiring motivation? Shia LaBeouf can help you with that! I couldn't help myself. Enjoy!)
